Every “First Monday of the Month” – Weatherford City hosts an open air vendor market. Allowing Vendors to set up and sell their products or services to our community. Andrea Spencer and her team have been to it a few times over the past years, but decided to cover it from a Vendor/Seller perspective. Being more on the introverted side, I was not sure what to expect.
The Spencer TX Real Estate Booth was set up on Friday, May 30th around 8:45. I write that with such ease… It was not easy. I hadn’t anticipated being in a parking lot and not being able to stake my canopy down. And anyone who has been around Weatherford, (or North Texas for that matter), knows you need to tie your canopy down.
John was a life saver! He and his wife were in the booth across from me. They loaned me a large kettlebell weight while my wonderful husband came to the rescue with more weight to hold down the tent.
Another great friend I met was Matt – a Custom Art Framer out of Colorado. His story was inspiring and adventurous, albeit a little heartbreaking. Lisa with Big Dog Salsa was a wonderful friend – (after I was certain she hadn’t taken my spot!) Jason came to my rescue on few occasions; he was very helpful. Martha was such an inspiration at 92 years old, and Isabel with Punchies Cowgirl Caps is easily the youngest entrepreneur I’ve ever met! Phil had an inspiring story about health and love. (BTW: It’s not a small world, Vance is just crazy famous.)
Local Weatherford vendors offer handmade crafts, treats or other goodies, some offer re-sale goods, there were farm animals, and tools, knives, coins, an assortment of birds, plants, and food trucks, not to mention the vintage collectables.
Amber gave me the most delicious gluten-free lemon cake you will ever have.
This adventure was a long hot one, but one I will never forget. I am inspired by the commitment, passion, and (freedom) many of these people have via their small business and/or lifestyle.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this showcase piece and, especially to those who made me feel so fortunate to have crossed paths with them.
Forever Grateful,
Spencer TX Real Estate: Andrea Spencer
Side Note: First Monday will not be held on it’s usual “First Monday” weekend due to 4th of July. It will be held the weekend prior, starting on June 27th.
