October is here!  Brisk mornings and cool evenings signify the changing season. Only a few short months before we celebrate the New Year.  
In addition to Columbus Day, on October 13th, our community has several events to enjoy before winter sets in. 
12th Annual Benbrook Heritage Fest “Cowboy Roundup” Saturday, October 20, 2018 10:00am-3:00pm Dutch Branch Park, 1899 Winscott Road, Benbrook, Texas. 
For eleven consecutive years, the annual Benbrook Heritage Fest “Cowboy Roundup” is the highlight of the fall season in Benbrook. On Saturday, October 20, 2018, the event returns to Dutch Branch Park, offering a lineup of fun-filled activities, displays, food trucks, and dance and music performances. Admission is FREE! The Fort Worth Botanic Garden has lots of October activities.  From Toddler events to Doggie Days; there is something for everyone on this calendar.  The Doss Heritage & Cultural Center in Weatherford, has an exciting month planned.  

Casa Manana Children’s Theater in Fort Worth is performing Junie B. Jones until October 19th.   

The Granbury Theater Company is performing Young Frankenstein through November 9th.
 


Mainstay Farms in Cleburne is hosting their Fall Festival through November 2nd. Pick the perfect pumpkin, hop aboard the Grand Funk ’89 Train, zoom down the Texas Tubin’ Hill Slide, and bounce sky-high on the Jumping Pillows.  Treat yourself to fresh, handmade food, seasonal sweet treats, and wine on tap as you soak up your dream fall.  Whether it’s a family outing, date night, or girls’ trip, Mainstay Farm is the must-visit destination this fall! 

Southlake is hosting Oktoberfest starting on October 18th, featuring the “Famous Wiener Dog Race & Costume Contest”. 



Pumpkin Nights at Howell Farms is where Halloween becomes art.  
 Your journey follows a half-mile path through ten immersive pumpkin Lands, like the fiery Forbidden City and the swashbuckling Pirate’s Cove. You’ll see incredible, larger-than-life installations and detailed sculptures, all built from over 7,500 hand-carved and custom-designed pumpkins.

The experience continues in the Pumpkin Village, the heart of the festival, where you’ll find festive food, our live fire show, and games for the whole family.
